How does a low-carb diet work?

This allows you to easily weigh 2 to 3 kilos lighter after just a few days of eating less carbohydrates. Unfortunately, weight loss will be significantly slower after that, so it is important to adjust your expectations in good time.

Is a low-carb diet good for you?

One advantage of low carbs is that you can eat many more products and suffer less energy dips in the beginning. For example, you can also plan your daily carbs around your workout, giving you more energy to perform in the gym. The downside, however, is that for some people it's too difficult to keep up. In other words: do you manage to stop after a small amount of carbohydrates, or do you lose it completely?

Keto vs. Low-carb: what's better?


Usually keto is most effective for people who want to lose a lot (more than 20 kg). And yet keto is not a ready-made solution for everyone. All experts agree: the diet you can best maintain will ultimately be the most effective. That's why it's good to play what works for you.

For example, try to reduce your carbohydrates first. If that works and you feel comfortable with it, you may go even lower in carbohydrates until you have reached a state of ketosis. In both cases, however, do not expect miracles. The same results can also be achieved with carbohydrates. Everything simply comes down to how many calories you consume per day.
